Heritage Fridge Magnet Home of Golf 0921
Ref: 0921
A quality heritage fridge magnet, designed, carved and handcrafted in Great Britain.
Scotland is the home of golf, appearing in an Act of the Parliament of Scotland on 6 March 1457, in the reign of James II.
The first written rules originated in Scotland, as did the establishment of the 18 hole course. Tournament structures developed, competitions were held between various burghs, and the modern game was spread by Scots to the rest of the world.
The oldest playing golf course in the world is the Old Links at Musselburgh, where Mary, Queen of Scots reputedly played in 1567.
The magnet comes comes on an attractive display card which details the history of the design on the reverse, and will make a lovely little gift and memento for anyone with a love of golf.
